We got snow! Overnight, so I didn’t get to see it falling. I woke up at 6 am, looked outside. It was a winter wonderland. So nice!

I had to go out at about 11 am. The roads were clear thank goodness. On the way, I took photos of all the snow-covered trees. There was no one on the road in our subdivision. My creative for yesterday could technically be all the photo editing I did. It took most of the afternoon and evening. But you know me. I want my collage to have 30 pieces. So I will catch up.

While in Phoenix this weekend, I saw a couple of cacti fences. I love them. I just think they are practical, as well as pretty. Sculpture. Sometimes they are in planters next to a building. Sometimes they act as an actual fence.

This painting was inspired by what I saw. I had fun with this. Building the layers. It looked sort of flat, and I realized I needed to add shadows. But I think I may have botched that. I used a Pitt pen with a brush tip. Thought it was a grey, but OOPS! It was black. I was able to soften it a bit with a damp brush.

So that was Tuesday morning. By 2 pm most of the fields were gold again. The roads were dry and the sky was clear. Perfect.

I tried to capture the snow falling from the tree in our front yard. No such luck. The large pine (Oh, Christmas tree) has a blur in the center, that was falling snow. If you should feel inspired to paint one of these snowy trees, feel free. 🙂

I’ll share more of these tomorrow. I’ve finished this batch, and I’m in the mood to do some abstracts. Some collage maybe.

The storm came as promised. Roads were closed, and offices shut down. Here at home, it was a gentle snow. I think it snowed for a day and a half. Big fluffy flakes. The next two photos are early in.

When the sun came up yesterday, Mingus was hiding in the mist.

They plowed our road today. But the cold means our view will remain white for a few more days at least. I’m going to enjoy every minute.

Caught my second wind at 11:30 pm. Truth be told it was my first wind. Pulled out the left over paints I have on dishes, and in bowls. I have missed my “colors”. Thought about doing bouquets, but hey, it was almost midnight. So a single bloom on a deep background won out.

Happy little accident in card one. Do you see it? Indigo ran amuck.

Feel so much better now that I painted. Caught up on some “work” reading today. Found some glitches I had to fix in my Society6 shop.  Still  some to address. Amazing how long the “little” things can take! The server will be down for a few hours tonight. The internet company is upgrading or some such. So my apologies in advance if you had a hard time reaching this site.

I found that I had not posted these photos of our last snow.  About two weeks ago now. Maybe three. I love how you can see the mounds of earth that formed eons ago. Those are not always visible. Both of these were taken on the same day, within a 20 minute time span.

More catching up, I finished this project last week. I have been working on a design assignment, and fell behind on posting. Take a look at my new “Inspiration board”. There will be a larger board on the wall next to this.

Ahhh... art on the wall!
