On a cool, rainy, GLORIOUS day. Window open. Painting.

Rain is such blessing, especially for all of those near the fires. The North fire yesterday on the Cajon pass was devastating for so many people. It is the main route from So. Cal. to Las Vegas. Prayers going out for all of those affected by it.

Can’t imagine being left on foot, in the desert, 30 miles from any sort of facilities. 20 cars were destroyed. 2 semi trucks. Feeling very blessed, and very thankful for the rain.

I had a monitor stand made. Just a few scraps of wood, and little black paint. You can’t really see the stand, but you can see the empty desk space it gives me. The keyboard and mouse can be tucked away. More room for painting! Thanks Pete!

Hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Happy creating!

Sunflowers in the Sky

With diamonds. Just kidding. I had fun with these, and they came together quickly. Don’t ya’ just love when that happens?  I meant to have them spaced a little more unevenly.  Not sure what happened, but I am happy with the results. The petals have much more rust in them, I was unable to bring it out in Photoshop. They are much warmer and more complimentary to the heads.

This is my last piece for the INKed Postcard Swap. I painted four originals, and printed out the first red flowers I did. I decided that I should send out all originals. Only fair.

I also revisited the painting below. I went back in with some water, to loosen them up. Here is a look at the before and after. So much better now.

I took a drive today, errands. I noticed on the roadside, and along the freeway. In empty, dry dusty fields, and in between the rocks and boulders. Sunflowers were growing like, well, like weeds. How can you not love a flower that grows without being pampered? That blooms in the least likely place.

I wonder how many travelers noticed the sunflowers today…
