First LYA Sides Arrive

Kat Sloma’s Liberate  Your Art swap is still a week away. But look at the awesome side swaps that have come my way!

The trees are both from David Wolanski. The top photo is a Limited Edition Postcard Series. “Black and White Meditations #6 , 7 of 25” Taken in the Mississippi Delta with His Holga Film Camera. Dreamy don’t you think!?

The tree on the bottom is at Windsor Ruins. David wrote that he sends cards out at random intervals, just because he can. So this is an extra, extra card! Thank you David for adding me to your list! I have a fondness for trees. This one reminds me of a tree I slid down at Girl Scout camp. David teased that he would learn how to spell my name. No Worries. There are about five ways of spelling it, and mine makes the least sense. LOL. Here’s a little personal (that means I made up) grammar rule: “I before e except after c and sh”.

The wonderfully historic, and slightly scary, building is in Old Town Square in Prague. I believe it is the Týn Church. Kris McNeil has a larger version on her site. So beautiful! And check out her banner shot – WOW!

I just love learning about historic places and buildings. And I have to admit I took longer than usual writing this post. Thank you Kris and David for introducing these treasures to me! I love each of these cards!

Sunset in Prescott Valley

Tonight the sunset was spectacular. Looking to the east, there was just a mellow pinkish peach that warmed Mingus and then the sky. But out back was this…

Second Time Around

This view is pure imagination. Still, taking a cue from Mingus, I added some horizontal marks to the dark range. I hoped to add some definition to the front range as well. I don’t know if I was successful with that. Does it look like “hills”, or just one hill? I will look again tomorrow, and see if it feels better to me.

I used the palette knife, and my fingers to apply the paint. Here is another look at the before:

Day trip to Phoenix revealed these treasures along the way. I think I shared something like this first photo during September’s painting challenge.

I also found a new cactus to love. The totem pole cactus is thorn free! How cool is that?
