Mingus mountain is thirty minutes from our house. I have simplified the forms. That is what I see. How I see them. The shapes, the curves, the contrast. The golden rocks are not always visible, a nice surprise. they really catch the light at sunset. I will share some photos soon. Have to size them in Photoshop for posting.

I had fun with this. Slightly larger for me. It would be fun to do this on a large canvas in acrylic.

I love the work being shared in Leslie Seata’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!
I am also adding friends and favorites to my Pinterest board for the event.

A Simple Start

I am so happy that Leslie’s challenge is starting, I have missed you all so much!

I will fill you in on the move soon. Friends from out-of-town are visiting this week, so these first couple of posts will be short. I have not had time to prep, but I have considered themes for about a month. Still undecided. Hoping that will make each day of the painting challenge a surprising adventure!

The hills outside my window are proving to be an ever-changing inspiration. The front range often glows electric golden green. The colors mesmerize.

This is the first I have painted since July 26th. Worthy of the round file perhaps, but boy did it feel good to have a brush in my hand again!

Ducks-Day-3

I am working on a short video of these two. Thought I had it working, but nope. These photos are from Saturday. And they are back, the 6th day they have come to entertain us. Today Daisy is jumping off of the Jacuzzi ledge. Trying to catch a shot of that.

Hey, check this out! Corinna Woodard found a little sunflower inspiration and you’ll never guess where. And if you like that, you will love a look at her February felted hearts. So gorgeous right!? I was fortunate to be the winner of one of Corinna’s January giveaways. I just love this 3D piece, Tailspin is even more pretty in person. Thank you Corinna!

I started a painting today, a bird of course. Hope to share it with you tomorrow.  Enjoy!
