This is me getting back on the horse. Botched a small canvas in the last stages. Reached for the gesso to bury the scary spectacle. Found a sheet of paper and began again. This is from memory. I did not start with a drawing or reference photo.

Whew! Felt so much better after mixing some paint!

Though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Early this morning I lifted the window shade to check for snow. There was a little ball of fur in the front yard. Huddled near a frozen puddle in the street. He burrowed as best he could in the rocks. The sun was up, but he was still in a long, cold shadow.

For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know every bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field is mine.

Psalm 50:10-11

Storm coming from the east. Intermittent sun on the hills makes them glow. Layers of dark is the sky, punctuated with scraps of cotton-white.

Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
