I got on a bit of a roll last night, and I did three pears. Just having a peary good time. I am really happy with how this one turned out. I was hoping the background on top would spread some more, but it did not. And there was some interesting texture there as well, but once it dried everything just smoothed out.

There is a long vertical mark on the right side of the pear. A BIG mistake. I guess I must have swiped a dry brush there. It was not noticeable while it was wet. I was going to try to fix it, but I think it works. It works well enough to be my entry today in Sea Dean’s party.

Here is the Love actually version of All I want for Christmas. I think I watch this movie, just so I can hear this version of the song. This girl can sing! and they actually asked her to goof it up a bit. She was so good, they didn’t think people would believe it was her, and not dubbed. OK, so if you have not seen it. The drummer worked day and night to learn the drums in hopes of winning his one true love. You guessed it, the girl with the voice. And Hugh Grant is the Prime Minister, who let the cat out of the bag.

I highly recommend the movie. I have seen it too many times to count.

I love the tradition of giving fruit at Christmas. When I was young, we always received an orange and whole nuts in our stockings. Chocolate too, if we were really lucky. While these edible treats may not have been the first thing we went for on Christmas morning, we were always anxious to eat them. My brother and I were sure to keep ours separated. That’s mine, that’s yours… very important!

I still remember learning in school how exotic black pepper, oranges, nuts or chocolate were to acquire. One thing I am truly grateful for, is the abundance of fruits and vegetables we have available to us throughout the year. What a blessing! Kiwi, mango, pear, peas, asparagus. This year the grapes have been ginormous!

May your larder be full, and your stomach content!

Sea Dean and I invite you to visit. Christmas cello anyone?

I am pretty sure I still have this doll packed away. She was a talking doll. “I want another drink of water!” I remember that, but she said a few more lines as well. The doll was introduced in 1964. That was just a little before my time, not much, but a little. The hair on my doll never looked like this, it was permanently parted. Her big bald forehead was prominent and it was full of scuff marks. No mommy of the year award for me.

It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the month! Jiminy Cricket! I hope you will take a look at the party art. There are some really cute critters, and an awesome abstract tree. If you need a moment to chill, have a listen to this. Merry, Merry, Joy, Joy!
