I painted this last night. Reworked it today, not sure if it’s a save or a blotch. The original is below. Whaddya think?

The foreground obviously needed something. So I went in with a small brush. I had in mind that I would soften some edges. You can do that with watercolor on paper. On Yupo, rewetting is more like erasing. I used thicker paint. More pigment, less water. That helped a bit.

I really like this technique. I want to get better at it. This was painted using a credit (gift) card instead of a brush. You don’t have control, but you also get lots of happy accidents. 🙂

Two more days. Two more days?? Jiminy Cricket. That can’t be! Nahh!

The warm green of the grass,
sprinkled with flowers of many hues,
is a carpet whereon we walk with noiseless tread.
William Wendt

What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind.
William Wordsworth

Maybe I should call this mellow yellow. Haha. Catching up. One more to do for today.

Color directly influences the soul.
Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers,
the soul is the piano with many strings.
The artist is the hand that plays,
touching one key or another purposively,
to cause vibrations in the soul.
Wassily Kandinsky

Sun-bleached bones were most wonderful against the blue – that blue that will always be there as it is now
after all man’s destruction is finished.
