Whew! Way behind, and it is only day one.  I started a weeks worth of paintings, hoping to begin ahead. Yes, you’re right. Way too ambitious.  Stayed up late working, and still.  Had nothing.

I had a plan. A theme. Well guess what. All shot to, heck.

So, going with the flow. And hoping very much that there will be a flow. If not a gusher, at least a slow, steady trickle. Yes. I would be very content with a trickle.

Sun setting on 2016, and it was glorious.  I watched the light travel along the ridge from the south.

Soon it caught hold of Mingus.

Annoyed with my work, I looked up again.

I said out loud, “The mountain is touching the sky!”

Glorious!

Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.
Khalil Gibran

Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked,
while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.
Bruce Lee

I have been thinking about the trees. So many here were broken by the weight of our rare snow storm. The trimmers are happy I am sure – business is good!  On one street alone, I counted 17 trees that had been broken in half, or just toppled completely. The Italian Cypress are all bending this way and that. But they are still standing.

There are still a lot of us “standing” in this challenge.
High five to everyone who keeps keeping on!

There are always flowers for those who want to see them.
Henri Matisse

The earth laughs in flowers.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’m an introvert… I love being by myself, love being outdoors, love taking a long walk with my dogs and looking at the trees, flowers, the sky.
Audrey Hepburn

God writes the Gospel not in the Bible alone, but also on trees, and in the flowers and clouds and stars.
Martin Luther
