This is the second of the flower series. Painted the same day, after Day 12. I showed the yellow flowers yesterday, because I did not want this to suffer by comparison to the first purple piece. I went much darker on this. Intentionally. I like both Day 12 and Purple Reign, for different reasons.

Which do your prefer?

I am having fun with these flowerscapes. I painted them while standing, unusual for me. I had to raise my desk, to accommodate my Raskog cart. Now the desk is too high for my chair, (I’m shopping the sales for an office chair). Standing has helped me to work loose. I am having so much fun, I want to go larger!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy is how I felt painting this. I managed to stay light handed, and not get lost in details. This was number three of four, and I was on a roll.

For all my success yesterday, the exact opposite was true today. I created four rather dull pieces. I will take a look again tomorrow and see if a creative crop, or more layers can save them.

Happy creating y’all!

Watercolor, gouache, Le Pen, and watercolor pencils. I also used a stamp to add texture. I wasn’t sure about posting this. A little too sappy with heart-shaped flowers. But hey, why not. I painted two more pieces, and I wasn’t sure about those either. Maybe one of them will look better to me tomorrow. Back to number one with fresh eyes, and now I can see the redeeming qualities.

Rain is due overnight and into the next couple of days. Gave me the idea for the title.

Week one is done! Went by much too fast.  Could feel that way because I have two gifts I need to finish, my brother’s wedding photos to edit, and I decided to enter a surface design competition at the last minute.

Happy creating to you all!
