I am not completely happy with today’s piece. It started out longer. I thought cropping might be an improvement, but it still was off. So I took out the big guns. I used Photoshop to add width to the vase. That is cheating I know, and it did not save the piece. Here is the original.

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys
on a minor planet of a very average star.
But we can understand the Universe.
That makes us something very special.
Stephen Hawking

I am just a child who has never grown up.
I still keep asking these ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions.
Occasionally, I find an answer.

I had a name for this. Not very original. Karin Naylor mentioned it in her comment on my piece yesterday. These shapes may not be very original either. I found a couple of small paintings I did last year, and I have a feeling I saw something I liked, and tried to learn how to recreate it.

These are fun though. I have a feeling there will be more.

The Flowers

All the names I know from nurse:
Gardener’s garters, Shepherd’s purse,
Bachelor’s buttons, Lady’s smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.

Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames–
These must all be fairy names!

Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!

Fair are grown-up people’s trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.

Robert Louis Stevenson

Finished this at 11 :50 pm. Downton night. There are just a few copper dots, (they look
brown) both in the border and the bloom. They add just a hint of shine. I might add more of the copper.

So grateful to all of you visit and comment. Your opinions are important to me. Thank you for your honesty, and for your friendship!
