By taking the time to stop and appreciate who you are
and what you’ve achieved – and perhaps learned
through a few mistakes, stumbles and losses –
you actually
can enhance everything about you.
Self-acknowledgment and appreciation
are what give you the insights and awareness
to move forward
toward higher goals and accomplishments.

Jack Canfield

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.
Michelangelo

Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.
Pablo Picasso

At the start of the challenge, I did not have a theme in mind. I joked about doing a series of “series”. It actually has worked out that way. I have five, possibly six, collections.

Like so many challenge participants, I was beginning to feel producing a painting a day was a daunting task. This weekend, for some reason, I was on a roll. I finished four pieces. I work small, and a couple of them were fairly simple. That helped.

I am still painting each day, to finish up the series I have started. But oh what a relief it is, to have a bit of breathing room. Whew!

“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.”
Gérard de Nerval

“If you take a flower in your hand and really look at it,
it’s your world for a moment.”
Georgia O’Keeffe

For some reason this makes me think of Marge Simpson. The arrangement is awfully square, and rather tall. There are too many flowers. Thinking I might crop the top, add more blue to the background, and make the arrangement more circular.

I am happy with it, just the perfectionist on my shoulder shouting to be heard.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Isn’t it kinda funny, how you can look at something for hours, and still not really see it? Working on this, I just didn’t notice. I have rows. Neat and tidy rows. Rows are not very organic. I was planning on adding stems, and then decided it would get to busy. I am not sure this can be saved. But I will set it aside, and come back to it in a few days.

I revisited Day 15, and painted the frame white. Good call Sea, I like it.
