These cards are on their way to my Pals Poist postcard partners. One is headed to Ireland, one to Norway and one to California. I meant to add a flower to the middle card. But dork forgot until just as I was putting it in the envelope. Three layers of paint and then the pen work, and do you think I would remember??

Pals Poist is Jacinta Moore‘s idea for a postcard exchange. In an attempt to fill the huge gap left by the cancelation of Kat Sloma’s LYA. Jacinta even created a cool little logo for the event. Check it out!

I have already received Jacinta’s wonderful card. She calls it digital art. It is a compilation.

Very intriguing.

Isn’t that a mind bender? Or is it just my mind that is bent? This is a photo of her photo. Not doing it justice. I apologize Jacinta. So glad you had the idea to do a swap!

September 2018 Painting Challenge In Review

WOO WHOO!

Congratulations to the artists who took part in Leslie Saeta’s
September 2018, 30 Paintings in 30 days challenge!

In the beginning, I was working in batches, falling behind and catching up. I created two small series. That workflow sort of stuck with me, and in the end I have six small series. Maybe that gives a sense of continuity. Maybe not. Viewer favorites include days: 3, 13, 16, 17, 21, 23, 24, 27,  and 28.

Which are your favorites? My picks are below.

Those of you who follow my blog know that the last six months I have been preoccupied with family health issues. I knew I had a busy September schedule. I fully expected that I would not be able to complete 30 paintings.

But guess what, I did. Ha ha! Thanks in LARGE part to your friendship and support. I am so grateful. The paintings I am satisfied with, are roughly as many as in earlier challenges. I am surprised and, again, thankful.

One reason I mention my struggles, is to let other artists know… we all struggle. I hope you don’t feel alone in that. Making new friends, cheering each other on and offering ideas. The gift of friendship is such a blessing. To the artists that reached out to me – thank you! So glad to have met you through the challenge!

Cheers to Leslie Saeta for bringing us together!
Cheers to the artists worldwide who took part!

This range is part of Mingus. Just south. You can see this from just about everywhere in town. I just love the crags and crevices. Are they crags in America? Or is that a British thing? OK, too many period pieces for me. OK, confession time. I painted this backwards. Traced it backwards on the paper. What? How? Ha ha ha! It was late, and I was NOT going to start over. Didn’t see it until the ink was dry.

I was in the mood for pen apparently. A style I would like to be better at. There are many styles I would like to be better at. Ha ha ha. Here is number four.  And oh, yeah. More yellow flowers.  I was trying to recreate flowers I did on this postcard.  Well, trying to create them better. HA! That will teach me.

There are other subjects I would like to paint for #WorldWatercolorMonth. Maybe I will do flowers for a week, and then switch. Maybe.

Have an awesome 4th everyone!!!
