Calling this a redo. I kept with it even when I knew I botched it. I know what I am going to do to fix it.  Think I like the before better. Had fun with the palette knives!! Ha.

I’m up! Thought it was the server. Instead it was city repairs that had the connection down. Hallelujah AMEN! That’s a big thanks to God. And to my computer guru Randy. He worked all night trying to get everything back online.

Thank You Randy!

I posted this earlier on Google+ and Facebook. It is a subtractive painting. The vase and large flowers are the first layer, a mix of red and blue. I let the paint mix on the canvas so it would be uneven. I carved out those shapes by adding a layer of white.

I added pattern to the table and vase, and more flowers. I used watercolor to add variation to some of the large buds, and to the leaves.

I almost didn’t to gift this. It didn’t turn out the way I was hoping. I know the reason, and what I can do to make the next one better. I looked at it for a couple of days, and decided that I really liked it in spite of knowing its “flaws”. My flaws as a painter.

It was for a good friend, she loves purple. She really loved it when she saw it. That’s all that matters!
