I know. Too much sky. I was working on clouds further up, but they bombed. So I washed over it. You can see a hint of the jagged shapes if you go looking for them. Before the wash dried, I took a tissue to the wet and created soft, almost invisible cloud shapes. The shapes were more pronounced while the paint was wet. But I am happy with them.

I had in mind the first painting I did like these. That was in a 2016 painting challenged. WOW! Doesn’t feel that long ago. It is one of my favorites. It was loose and abstracted. I keep trying to get back to that. And I keep failing. LOL 🙂

It started raining while I was working. That influenced the colors, and I think helped loosen it up a bit. Before I splattered paint, I splattered water. I knew the paint would flow when it hit the wet areas.

Tried it as a 4 x 6 postcard. It may work better with less sky. What do you think?

A learning experience. Yup. Ugh. Those flowers. Those leaves. Ha ha ha. I fussed too much. Still, overall, I am happy with this. 🙂 Took much longer than it should have. I blame Mingus.

Several months ago I bought a snake plant. I have been a doting plant mother, eager to watch new leaves grow. They seem to grow quickly at first, then they sort of rest for a bit. And before I realize it, they are the same height as older leaves.

In day 1, I used a honeycomb stencil. I thought it was perhaps too soft. On today’s piece, I think it is too dark. Tomorrow I should get it just right. Ha ha ha. There is white pen outlining some of the circular shapes on the top left and right. It shows up more in life. I also used it to define the line of the table.

I am so inspired by the work of Janet Bradish. She has taken part in previous 30-day challenges, and each day I could not wait to see her piece. She often uses patterns in her paintings. Her blog shows her work for the challenges. Great textures!
