Now why didn’t I catch that? I had three chances to spot it. Just noticing the horrible shadow along the left that shouts, “BAD SCAN”. Uugghhh, LOL. (fixed)

I painted the WWM piece first today. I mixed paint, and had enough left I decided to use it on the Mingus painting as well. I LOVE Naples yellow. Really dig it. I mixed it with Cerulean the other day, and was blessed with the prettiest, soft, warm green.

There are two different blues in the sky, and touches of Naples.

Ready, set, GO!

Really excited about filling my Sketchbook. There are 110 pages to look forward to!  This is Inktense pencils and water-soluble Neocolor crayons. I picked up this tiny, about 2.5 inches, pot at Michaels yesterday. They had double coupons, so it was about 95 cents. How could I resist. A smile and a bit of greenery for my desk.

I’d love to have a few small, live, succulents scattered around. I might try again. I can grow plants outdoors, but indoors is another story. And you do you know how hard it is to kill a succulent? Disaster. Ha ha.

I played with the greens, just because I could. Can you tell I had fun? The plant is actually more of a fresh celery green.

Happy weekend friends!

Started out light and, sketchy. Then I added another layer. And a bit more. I love artists that have a light, delicate touch. So often want to paint that way. But I always end up heavy on the color. So I have to face it. That is me.

This is the first in my birthday Sketchbook gift from Jerry’s Artarama. I used pencil, Inktense, Neocolor and a waterbrush. The paper buckled while I was working, but I left it overnight with a weight on it, and I have to say I am pleased with how flat it dried.

Somehow this 4 x 6 book seems smaller than a 4 x 6 postcard. Weird. Just my brain. I have wanted to start a sketchbook for a while. I so admire the sketch books I see by those of you who keep them. So shout out to Jerry’s – Thank you!

This was fun!
