One week in and the artwork in the group is AMAZING! I had fun with these florals, but I am itching to move on to something else. Don’t ask me what. LOL.
Fun side note. I was featured in Janine Vangool’s weekend newsletter, All About You. Janineis the publisher / editor / designer of UPPERCASE, the quarterly magazine for the creative and curious.
Painting is a source of endless pleasure, but also of great anguish. Balthus
Painting is concerned with all the 10 attributes of sight; which are: Darkness, Light, Solidity and Colour, Form and Position, Distance and Propinquity, Motion and Rest. Leonardo da Vinci
Wow! So much life and exuberance in your hydrangeas! Love your painting! Congrats on being featured. Looking forward to see what subject you choose next. I painted a seascape today. Not sure I can post it… 🙂 I need some of your enthusiasm and creative energy!!!
Haha 🙂 I am sure you can Karin. But step away and give it another look later. Or call it a WIP. Haha.
Thank you for visiting the blog and taking the time to say hello. Happy, energetic creating my friend! xoxo 🙂
I really like the flowers you create with the Q-tips – they are so much fun. Day 5 is a super piece Sheila. Congrats on being included in that newsletter – small is so tough!
Thank you Val 🙂 YOU are rocking small this round! The Q-tips are fun, I have a whole bag from the dollar store. LOL. They are a few years old and I am finally getting around to using them. LOL. 🙂 Have fun with your ornament today! 🙂
Sheila! The complexities in this painting knock my socks off, sparking so much visual fascination. The textural laciness of those blossoms—spectacular! The bold ‘illogic’ of the background! WOW!
Lovely, Sheila. I have a quick association with beautiful full hydrangeas. The patterned chartreuse background is very effective. Congrats on the feature! How cool is that! And my interest is piqued why da Vinci used the word “propinquity” or something similar in Italian in that quote;)

Happy creating to you 🙂

I had to use that quote Laurelle. Yes, exactly! Why not proximity? Closeness? Haha.
