The moon was rising over Mingus while I worked. I think somehow it found its way to the paper. That was not a conscious decision. I just felt it needed some brightness.
While editing, I thought to tone down the Tawny. The pink. Does it look pink to you too? Tawny is listed as a light brown to brownish-orange color. This is the mid-value of the color. You may not notice a difference. But I’d be curious to know which you prefer.
I am not sure this next one is finished. It needs something. I will continue with it. Suggestions are always welcome.
Beautiful end to the day!
Sheila you live in a beautiful place. I love the colors in the dessert where you are. They always come out in your paintings.
I like the second one 😀❤️
So nice to hear Cindy! You know I would so love to visit your country!
I found Scotland’s Home of the year on Youtube, and I am loving it. I love the old stone cottages. LOL.
So nice to hear you like the painting. I thought it was a flop, but most folks in the group liked it better than the other. Haha.
Lovely shots of MIngus and the moon rise Sheila. I am not sure about the art in this – it really doesn’t speak to me but I like the bottom piece best of the two. – We are almost done!!!
Thanks for your honesty, Val. 🙂
There is an artist I follow on Instagram. 9x9painting. Hiroshi Matsumoto.
He does abstract oils. Color blocks and sometimes landscapes.
I am intrigued by how his pieces make me feel. Some are so soothing.
I have been trying for a few months to develop a style like that.
For myself mostly. My enjoyment.
Yes! Whew! time just keeps getting faster and faster. I feel like I have struggled all month long, and yet, it has still flown by.
And I will be sorry, and miss seeing everyone each day. LOL 🙂
I prefer the first one. Yes it does look pink, sort of fleshy.. Somehow your paintings always seem to make me smile.
Aww, that is such a nice compliment Sea. Thank you. 🙂 (blushing)
Thanks for sharing your preference. 🙂
Sheila, I am liking and am fascinated by the way the moon found its way into your Day 25 painting! Not sure I have a preference regarding the tawny and toned-down tawny, but I notice that the first image has a stronger sense of saturation to my eye, and therefore presents a degree of contrast not evident in the toned down version.
Regarding Day 26: add line(s)?
That is it exactly Dotty. So you prefer the contrast. Good to know. Thank you 😉
I agree, I think some marks of some kind will help the second one.
Thanks, Dotty 🙂
Great colors and so much texture. The moon is wild.
Thanks, Christine. 🙂 It is amazing how fast the moon rises!
