I read an article on van Gogh, and enjoyed the thoughts he shared with his brother. I think you will enjoy them as well.
“If only we try to live sincerely,” he told Theo in 1878, “it will go well with us, even though we are certain to experience real sorrow, and great disappointments, and also will probably commit great faults and do wrong things, but it certainly is true, that it is better to be high-spirited, even though one makes more mistakes than to be narrow-minded and all too prudent. It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much and can accomplish much, and what is done in love, is well done.”
I loved reading Vincent and their letters to each other. Theos great support and love for his brother sustained vincent. This floral painting is one of your best! It’s so expressive.
Thank you, my dear friend and wordy foe! Haha! That book is on my list. Theo deserves much credit, without his support… imagine what the world would never have seen. ;o(
Beautiful quote (I’ll be recycling it for Wednesday Wisdom). Even more beautiful postcard.
It is funny how they find you at the right time. Well, we go googling… Haha.
