This painting uses a technique for breaking through your creative block. Again I used a credit card and Yupo. Those two together take control out of the equation. You get what you get. And yes, it might be a hot mess. But it is organic and free-flowing. There are areas of interesting cracking and texture that are not visible in the low res image, unfortunately.

I will be trying more of these. I noticed I was relaxed while working on them. A little closer to getting in the zone.

Day 16 Close-Up

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing,
wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin

Sometimes we should express our gratitude
for the small and simple things like
the scent of the rain,
the taste of your favorite food,
or the sound of a loved one’s voice.
Joseph B. Wirthlin

    Not my kind of thing but the colours sure do pop. I just can’t get into Yupo. I have a bunch stored away – maybe someday I will try it again.

      Two of my favorite artists do amazing things with Yupo. Yevgenia Watts, and Sandy Sandy. 🙂 If you work with thicker paint, you have a little more control. But I am no master. Haha.
