From one extreme to another. Day 21 was too light. Day 22 is too dark. Tomorrow’s piece oughta be just right. This is a totem pole cactus. They are lumpy and bumpy. They are smooth, no spines. I simplified the shapes. I may go back and add a few shadows to indicate lumps. I might also wash out some of the heavy colors in today’s background. It does remind me of the intense desert heat. I guess I should call it a work in progress. Opinions are always welcome. 🙂
I revised Yesterday’s painting. I like it much better now.
If you do lift out on #1 only do it around the cactus only. PS I’m sure you missed the doggie in the clouds of #2 but now you cant stop seeing him can you?
Hahaha, you’re right Sea. 🙂 LOL. 🙂
I always think you did great, don’t mess with them. Then you do and I like them too! LOL
Your call Sheila! It always works out!
Haha, thanks, Dave. I am the same way when other artists say that 🙂 LOL. Glad you like the changes 🙂
Such interesting plants you have found to focus on Sheila. I agree that the background of today’s piece is too dark and I really like the change you made to yesterday’s piece. Isn’t it nice that we can make changes to paintings?
Yes, it is Val 🙂 Stay tuned 🙂 LOL
intense blistery heat offset by whimsical irregularities and cooling succulence, all touched by welcome slaty chill and shadow
What a treasure your comments are Dotty 🙂 Thank you, my friend 🙂
