Isn’t this a pretty sky? Takes a lot to steal the limelight from Mingus Mountain. This was the sky last night. Teased rain, again.
Today though, we had glorious rain for well over an hour. Booming thunder. Big fat drops, loudly bouncing off the windows. Trees swaying wildly. Gutters overflowing. Mingus hidden in a blanket of grey. A most welcome “light” storm”.
I am continuing to prep for the September paint-a-thon. I taped a few sheets, and hope to add some background textures this evening. We already have 32 members. WOW!!! I am so glad the word is spreading. This is going to be fun!
Beautiful photography of a stunning phenomenon! Weather is something, isn’t it? We actually had a small tornado formed in the clouds the other day. First time I’ve ever seen that in my life. Thank you for forming the 30-Day Creative Gathering. I so love the camaraderie that is formed and being inspired by others’ art. Big hug always to you!
Wow, but no touch down I take it? Or are you talking about the storm that destroyed all the trees? Once in Colorado, I saw the sky turn a sickly green-grey, and I heard sirens go off. We lived a block from the schools so it must have been their sirens. It was weird. The dog was freaking out, so I brought her into the basement. I was home alone, in Jr. High I think. Fortunately, it fizzled out. I never saw it, but I knew. Just had that feeling of imminent danger.
Gotta love the weather and the skies though, don’t you? Loads of inspiration.
I am so glad you will be with us Laurelle! I know that is the main reason I need it this time. I’ve got to get back to work, and having a little cheering squad will certainly help. 🙂 I have really missed having those conversations with friends. And it sounds like a lot of people have 😉
Hugs and prayers to you Laurelle!
Sounds like the perfect storm. 🙂 Love the pink cloud. Looking forward to September 1st..yay! 🙂
So nice to hear Katie! I am glad everyone is excited. That means it is really needed!!
It was so wonderful. I swear I was like a little kid, I must have gone to the front door to peek out and smell the air at least 6 times. But in my defense, the conditions kept changing. LOL. 🙂 I have more cloud photos to post tomorrow. 🙂
A lovely photo Sheila and rain is so often welcome at this time of year. I am looking forward to the 30 days of painting – thanks for thinking of it!
We’ve been waiting for so long Val. It was wonderful 🙂 Thank YOU for joining Val 🙂 Can’t wait to see your creations!

Very exciting that you have a 30-Day Creative Gathering up and running, Sheila! I have been away (and will be for a couple more days) but plan to take a closer look once home : )
So glad you enjoy it Dotty 🙂 I would be thrilled for you to take part. It does not mean you have to turn in a piece a day. Enjoy your days, and have a safe trip home 🙂
