Why is it so easy for me to forget how fun it is to use watercolor with gesso? Messy, uncontrollable… fun! I have about 18 of these started, making ready for two different swaps. The Global heART Exchange, and Pals Poist, with Jacinta Moore. Maybe I will see you there.
Pals Poist was created by Jacinta. If you are interested, check her out on Instagram. Each artist connects with individuals they would like to swap with. The swap begins in March. There is no theme, and you can choose how many you would like to swap with. If you are not on Instagram, but want to swap, let me know in a comment.
Enjoy!
You have so much fun and joy in your work!
Aww, thanks Lana 🙂
So many projects! Yellow smiling sunflowers, who can resist!
Brachot
Brachot my friend 🙂 These were fun 🙂
Sheila, love this sneak preview of what you’ve got in the works. Love imagining you painting and prepping happily in your art space.
Ha ha ha. 🙂 Thank you Dotty.
So fun and cheerful! Do you put a coat of gesso on the paper and let it dry? or are you using the gesso as a paint? I am curious!
I let the gesso dry. I put it on messy, so there are bumps and textures 😉 They made me smile while I was painting Val 😉
I have done the same before but only on a smooth surface – your way sound like more fun.
I started by laying it on smooth Val. Then I splotched a little, and thought what the heck. I remembered how much I love other artists who start by “making a mess” in their art journals, or on canvas. So I left parts of the paper uncovered, and applied the gesso in a sloppy fashion. 😉
