I managed to get these painted before I returned to Phoenix. That was about, hmm, a week ago. I did not have time to prep, or post as it turns out. Thinking of these as starts, but I do like them as they are.

Around Here

Missed you Mingus!

Sun Setting 5/24/18.

Pete is out of ICU. He was transferred to a physical rehab facility. They are thinking it will be seven to ten days. One of his doctors apologised, told Pete he just happened to be that one in a million (not quite that many) that had complications.

So good to have him talking and joking again!

Grateful to all of you who sent good thoughts and prayers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

PS so many of your images make me want to paint. I may have to join you in this Mingus challenge. The one with the clouds is gorgeous, and that spikey yellow flower is calling my name. 🙂

LOL ;o) DO Sea, I will send you some photos if you want! LOL Oh what your Mingus would look like!!
I so want to paint plants. I took a bunch of photos at the waterfall garden at Mayo. Different cacti and trees. I am missing flowers and nature 😉 Ha ha ha ha.
Such an awesome compliment, thanks Sea 🙂

Wow! A bevy of Minguses (or is it Mingii?). Life happens and you’re trying to honor both your regular life and your art life without letting go of either. Doing a great job of it too! You probably don’t feel you have it handled, but to the outside observer you are an inspiration.
As for the Mingii, 43 and 47 are my faves. I think its more the color combination than the scene. Somehow the warm blue makes the peach warmer and strangely the violet makes the peach cooler. A great example of how colors influence each other and one of an artists greatest challenges. I’m so glad Pete is on the road home.

Sea you beat me to it!! LOL 🙂 I am thinking Mingii. Sounds sort of Star Trekkie to me. LOL 🙂 43 and 44 are my favorites from this batch. Love hearing which ones catch your eye 😉 Love your observations Sea, I can see that now 😉
Honored by your kind words my friend. (Made me teary.) And sincere thanks for your well wishes too 😉
Happy, JOY filled weekend Sea. Go out and enjoy the scenery 😉

So glad to here Pete is out of ICU and that you are back home! I missed your posts. Your beautiful series of Mingus continues. I imagine it is getting quite hot there. Take care of yourself in the heat. And thank you for re-posting your last year’s art from Soul Art Day. It really was inspiring!

Yes Laurelle, that is the BEST news 😉 I was home for a few days, and will be back in a few. LOL. (Nice to be missed.) It is hot in Phoenix. So much nicer here Mid 70’s. Keeping hydrated for sure! Happy weekend Laurelle!

Glad to hear that Pete is doing well and I hope you are too. I really like the pink tones you got in a few of the paintings – great colour combos. I am not sure if you are keeping up to the challenge but you are producing some very interesting work. – good job Sheila!
