If this was a 30 day challenge, I would be at the halfway point. I would be looking at the down side of the hill. But it isn’t, and I have a long way to go. Still, two weeks in and I am feeling in the groove.
I have two on the table. (Laughing allowed.) To be honest, one of them is staring back at me whispering, “You can’t fix this.” So it will, be on the table a while longer.
I used the salt technique on the front range of #14. The effect is very subtle, but I do like the added texture. The sky is lavender, not sure if you can see it here, or if it just looks blue.
Yesterday was a grey, blustery day. Teasing rain. It was dark east of Mingus, and I am sure that side of the mountains saw same moisture.
The sky is a mix of the sap green and indigo in the hills, with a touch of burnt umber I think. There is some terrific granulation, really love it.
I made a calendar to help keep my right on the numbering. Did it three times, because I kept goofing. If you see an error, be sure to let me know. 😉
LYA side swaps
Janice Darby and Sherry Harmes are two of my longtime LYA swap buddies. I always look forward to seeing their incredible cards, and receiving them together was even better!
Janice’s gorgeous angel came from California. Visit her link to see more of her angelic creations! As you can probably guess, I love the colors in this angel card.
Sherry always comes up with the coolest ideas. This year her card is “quilted” pieces. A mix of papers, ribbon, a button and a silk flower. A supper sunny side swap!
Thank you Janice, and Thank you Sherry! I love your cards, and I am so glad we swapped! Can’t wait for next year!
Your mountains sure have different moods and you capture them so well. Don’t know which one I prefer, glad I don’t have to choose!
Thanks so much for taking the tie to look at them all Carol. So glad you are enjoying the paintings 🙂 Happy creating to you my friend 😉
I love the colors and forms in #14 and #15. They are beautiful. I am impressed with your goal of the Mingus project!
Thank you Juana, so glad you like them 🙂 So great to hear from you 😉
Similar palette but both are one of a kind! Great sky in both. I can really feel that blustery day in Day 15. When I see your calendar with the days numbered I get a little ‘weak kneed’…..100 Paintings!!
Tell me about it Janet! LOL 😉 I didn’t really need to see it all laid out like that, Ha ha ha.
I love the moody #15
So glad you don’t think it is TOO moody 😉 Thanks Sea 🙂
Fantastic Mingus MT paintings. Love your side swaps. nice liberated ART
Glad you like them Christine 🙂 My side swap should be there soon 🙂
The soft wisps of cotton candy on #14, the harsher storminess of #15—Mingus in your hands does not disappoint, Sheila.
And what a gift that you have an angel on your shoulder and flowers everywhere you look as you find your way through 100 days : )
Blessings true Dotty 😉 Uplifting and inspiring 🙂
I do like the colours in your #14 but I was wondering if Mingus had been hit by a flood – it look like it is sitting on the ocean with such a straight line of the hills- lol. I got some of my side swaps today – always makes visiting the post office a nice treat.
LOL, I see it now Val. Sometimes that ridge does look straight. But you are right, it looks like water in this. 😉 Yay for you Val! Mine will be there soon 😉 OI got one as well, from Suzette. I will share it tomorrow 😉
Beautiful paintings and postcards, Sheila! So happy for you! Thank you for sharing your peaceful watercolors! Hugs
Those cards are beautiful aren’t they Trang. So nice to hear from you my friend. Enjoy your day 🙂
