I am hoping tomorrow I can start on an 8 x 8 piece. For now, just a sketch. I started it last night, and finished this afternoon. And here it is five minutes to ten, and I am just now able to post.

Cold and dreary here. Maybe that influenced some of my color choices. I was hoping to get caught in the rain while I was running errands, but no luck. We do have rain on the way this weekend.

Hope your weather is what you hope, and that you are safe and warm!

Thanks Laurie. I really like that area too. It’s a fluke, really. But I am going to try to recreate it 🙂

This painting is a lovely antidote to dreary weather. There’s a very interesting almost fluorescent feel to the colors in the table, that aqua next to the purple shadow.
Here, too, it is very cold. It’s been grey but sun gloriously popped out this afternoon. A large storm is coming. There was actually for the first time in history a tornado in southern Spain! So very strange. I have not painted since the challenge ended. I think I needed a break. But tomorrow I will start up again.

Yeah, I get that Laurelle. Especially for your work, more labor intensive than what I do. 😉 A tornado? That is incredible. Hope it wasn’t to bad. I’ll have to look it up.
That fluorescence is cool isn’t it?! I had no idea that would happen. I want to play with that again… see if it happens. There is a cool bit of texture there too, and I don’t really understand why, but I like it 😉
Enjoy your rest, and your painting time when you start 🙂

Sure Val! There was still snow on the mountains yesterday which really surprised me. Sun was out for part of the day, I just thought it would be melted by now. Have a super day Val 🙂

I knew this would be a busy week, and I miss the painting time. So sitting down for a few minutes with brush in hand has been relaxing 🙂 Happy creating to you Carol 🙂

Sheila, hats off to you for keeping your ‘hand in it’! This cheery bouquet is a sweet welcome antidote to the wintry mess to which we’ve awakened today—power went out a midnight (we’ve now got our small generator running essentials); HEAVY WET snow is about 8 inches deep, I think; storm is predicted to continue for 8 more hours. Love the watery quality of this sketch—it really carries the feeling of a rainy day.

Oh Dotty! I read about the outages and 2nd storm hitting. WOW! Yay for the generator. 🙂 I was surprised by how the table turned out. Layered colors, and the brighter one really pops. I’m going to have to try that again, 🙂
Fingers crossed for Spring to find you 😉
