This started with dripping paint. Then some negative painting and abstracted flowers. I like the soft white background. Just for fun I aged it a bit with Neocolor II. It will wipe right off if I decide I like the before better. What do you think?
Take a look at Leslie’s 30 In 30 Blog for today’s amazing art!
I saw this and went ‘WOW’ and then ‘WOW’ again – two thumbs up for the ‘after’ – gorgeous shapes and textures – and those bits of neutral in the flowers make this sing. Just love it Sheila!!
So glad you like it Janet, thanks for the double “WOW”! 😉
I like all three but I like the top one best.
Thanks Lana, me too 🙂
So glad you post on IG, too, b/c that’s where I first bumped into this piece. I totally missed it yesterday at your blog. LOVE IT. Sheila, this contains so much awesomeness! I vote strongly for the After version—it is more textured, more abstracted. It feels more balanced to me and, even though more rustic perhaps, more sophisticated, with more depth and visual content for the viewer. REALLY like this!
WOW, thanks for that Dotty. I love it, but wasn’t sure if maybe I should have some quiet space in there. Thanks for your vote of confidence Dotty 🙂
I love this piece! Striking composition and love the colors and that special vase! Kudos
Awesome Carol, thank you 😉
Christine took the words right out of my mouth! Love both. Love “after” most. 😉
So glad you like it Chandra 🙂
Wow, Sheila, this is terrific! How did you achieve the texture in the merlot flowers? The drips add wonderful interest to the composition, and the aquamarine blue really gives the oranges and reds a really push.
Thank you Laurelle 😉 That paint was just thicker than the others. And I did not thin it. I actually thought it would flatten out more, but I do like the texture. Love seeing it through your eyes my friend 🙂
beautiful. i like them both but the aging helps give it texture What fun!
Tuff to choose huh Christine? LOL 😉 Glad you like it, them 😉
I really like your dripping Sheila and it hurt that you covered up all that super colour but I know how you love your flowers. I do like the background of your finished piece all mottled and interesting. Adding some of the same colour to the flowers gives a nice cohesion too.
It did hurt Val!! LOL. 😉 I really love that color, In Neocolor, it is Venetian Red. Always great to hear from you Val 🙂
