Everything but the kitchen sink. Well, almost. Collage, acrylic, oil pastel, palette knife, finger paint, pattern. had fun making a mess. Then making something out of it.
Posting this late, but thought you might enjoy. Stages of a sunset.

Oooh, colorful cactus, and sunset all in one! 🙂
It’s a twofer Katie! LOL I am feeling I want to do larger cacti, this was fun 😉
Love the shape of the cacti – their colour, the line work and ‘dots’ and then putting them against that background – really, really like this!! And thank you for the pictures of the sunset – love those mountains and the stages of the sunset – beautiful
Thank you Janet 🙂 The sunsets have been… quietly grand lately. Sort of sneak up. After that brilliant pink sky, comes a soft lavender. But that is very hard to capture for some reason. Enjoy Janet, can’t wait to see what is next up on your blog!!
Love, love, this gorgeous mixed-media painting ! I see the moon, the sunset and all the pleasures you had while making it.
So nice to hear the pleasure shines through Martine 😉 I hope it is contagious, and transferable through the wires :o)
Beautiful! Love cactus and love the colors!
Yay, thanks Kyla, have fun painting today!
Absolutely gorgeous composition, Sheila! I love the written piece in the background. Thank you for sharing your amazing art and spirit! Photos are magnificent! Peace, my dear friend ❤️
WOW, thank you so much Trang for your kind words 🙂 The paper with writing was on clearance. I bought two sheets, probably should have gotten more if they are closing it out. Peace to you Trang, my joyful friend 🙂
What great colour choices for this one Sheila and the contrasts in colour and form work so well. Thanks for sharing the Mingus sunset pics – I don’t see many sunsets because I am surrounded by forest – sigh!
But your forest is amazing Val 😉 So glad to know I can keep sharing them, and I won’t be boring you 😉 So glad you feel the piece works so well, thank you 🙂
Sheila, I like the sophistication/simplicity synergy here, and the abstraction within representation. Also the immediacy of a central image which anchors me and gives me a place from which to explore and discover all sorts of secrets.
Ha Ha Ha 😉 Dotty you are the wind beneath my wings! So grateful for your support and lively critiques my friend 😉
Love this, Sheila! Cacti by nature have such an amazing design and your artistic sense really takes that design to another level. And thanks for sharing the lovely Mingus sunset. There’s a bit of sunset behind the cactus with that lovely shade of purplish pink.
Love that you see that Laurelle 😉 I see a moon behind it as well 😉 Enjoy your painting time today 😉
I love your new freedom! The strong contrast between the cactii and the background, Strong and soft, darks and lights Wonderful! Wish it could be enlarged to see more of the textures. Beautiful photos!
I set it so you can click the image and see it on an attachment page, but it is not much larger 🙁 I will remember that next time Carol 😉 There is a pale green scribble on the upper left, barely shows. You can always use CTRL and “+” to increase the page size. So glad y ou like it 🙂
