Calling this a redo. I kept with it even when I knew I botched it. I know what I am going to do to fix it. Think I like the before better. Had fun with the palette knives!! Ha.
On to day four!
Take a look at all the great challenge art at Leslie’s 30 In 30 Blog!
Share my Instagram link with your art loving friends!
Your painting is growing and changing – I think that is great!! You are pushing yourself – some of it is working- some not – but that is perfectly okay! Why play it safe!? Love all the texture and that ‘blue’ vase. The flower shapes keep pulling me in.
LOL, not working as much as I would hope. I’ll see if I can turn that around today. But yeah… learning in spades Janet 😉 Glad you like the shapes. 😉
I’m with Carol on this. You’re too hard on yourself. You are creating every day. That’s the most important. I like what you did after because there’s more contrast with the background and the bouquet, allowing the bouquet to be more of the focus. “Merlot Bouquet” would be good title;)
Hey, yeah, I like that Laurelle 😉 I like the light in the first one, but I thought it needed more contrast too.
The after has depth and body; the before has lightness and fun – either work! At least you are having fun, Sheila.
Getting in knife practice Val 😉 Have fun today 🙂
Sheila – I love the use of the palette knife. Also – love the colors!
Thanks Connie 😉 I have new knives, better quality than what I had before. Much easier to use :o)
This popped right out at me in the Leslie Saeta thumbnails, Sheila. I love the yellow and violet together, the texture in the background, and the smoother petals. Nice!!
Thank you Laurie 😉 I had fun with the texture. This was a recycled panel, and there was already some texture to it. Have fun today 😉
Love it!!! I don’t see “blotches”. Stop your inner critic, it’s messing with your muse!
LOL, didn’t think it would show up so early. OK, kicked it to the curb Carol 🙂 Have fun today!!
quick first impressions of these two gals:
before—tentative, a little superficial, slightly underweight, eyes darting around
after—sulttry, mysterious, full-bodied, secure in herself
: )
Dotty, you crack me up!! Sending a big bear hug your way! Sultry, Full bodied… well that suits the Merlot/shiraz just fine! Have an awesomely creative day four my friend 😉
