Walking through the floral stems in Hobby Lobby is what inspired this painting. Glorious ranunculus, ever unfolding. You can scroll down to see where this came from, the changes made. I washed off the watercolor blooms I had before. Went back in with acrylic to cover up the muddy mess that made. Started fresh with more watercolor and acrylic.
Tried to fight the lizard brain, but I still ended up with some rows. Added greenery, (duh, leaves, why didn’t I think of that?) And tried for texture in the blooms. Still some things I would change, but calling it done, and I am happy with it. With a little help from my friends, Sea, Val, and Lana. And of course Dotty’s consistent, cheerful, critiques. Thank you all for your helpful comments on the earlier version of this.
Love those dancing swirls!
Thank you Carol 😉
BINGO! Wow, Sheila. Did you snap any shots of the muddy middle? What a magical transformation—love the contrasts, the space you opened up, the increased depth, the baby’s-breath effect. Hats off to you for your derring-do in going back in with this piece.
B-I-N-G-O. You so often bring music to mind Dotty! LOL 🙂 I forgot. Wiped right before bed, and left it to dry. No muddy photo. So glad you like the changes, and I like them EVEN better after reading your descriptions 😉
Love it! Much more cheerful!!!
That’s the word Lana, you said it! Glad you like it 😉
I love it, Sheila. So characterful, so colorful, so joyful, so YOU.
Aww, thank you Laurie 🙂
Yup. this is better! The greens are a nice contrast to the reds and creams. It was worth going back and making the changes Sheila – well done!
Thanks Val 😉 It was just too dark and top heavy before. And busy. Now there is some breathing room.
Came out nice! a fun painting!
Thank you Dave 🙂
