Playing with a new brayer, creating I don’t know what yet. Backgrounds maybe, for more paint. Or papers for collage work. I also used a texture sheet, and a wood stamp. Having fun with these, more on the way!
Recently Simone Nijboer asked several questions on her blog. One of them was about an art community. Would we be interested, and if so, what would we like it to be? I swear, about a week later, the group was up and running! You can find out more at ArtNow. You can also see Simone’s wonderful work. I hope you will consider joining us!
Louise Gale’s heART exchange Global Art Swap for November is still active. In the previous post, I shared the first card to arrive. Today I received this lovely surprise!
Isn’t this a beauty? A feast for the eyes, and a treat for the fingers. Lovely textured paper, and a fabric heart. Wonderful crookedy stitching with the tails attached. Love it! The envelope has a wonderful decorative tape with flora, figs and mushrooms. Take a look at the stamp. (Everyone knows the best chocolate comes from Belgium.)
Thank you Inge, for sharing your wonderful art with me!
The next round starts soon! Visit Louise’s site for more.
I am so grateful for all my artist friends, here and on the internet. I also have joined the new community.
Oh that is wonderful Carol!! I look forward to seeing you there. Grateful for you as well Carol, and all of the artistic people I have met online. So wonderful to feel a part of a large, and diverse group. 😉
A super start to – something – lol. Love the card Sheila. I don’t know how you find time to paint with all the blogs and exchanges you participate in – good for you!
LOL, we will see Val 😉 what it becomes. Actually, I have put off participating in this exchange all year. Christine Brooks has faithfully been sending me reminders. I just kept thinking I did not have time. But it was a quick session, and the bookmarks were just the leftovers from cutting the paper to postcard size. I am so glad I signed up – Such fun to receive art in the mail!
I don’t know what a brayer is, but that is sure pretty. 🙂
It is a rubber roller, used mainly for printmaking. But you can do many different things with them. It is a great way to spread paint evenly and quickly. I bought a Fiskars, but I’d like to get some of the Speedball. They have different sizes. You can see it here… https://www.dickblick.com/products/speedball-soft-rubber-brayers/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=40104-1035&gclid=CjwKCAiAjanRBRByEiwAKGyjZYcups1biES7X0RU2aQTRF4FnkURgB-0iuZGO8TOVyTu8Azv-G2LohoCMvYQAvD_BwE
I love your background piece the possibilities are limitless, I think it would be tons of fun too.
Hi Lana, thank you 🙂 It was fun so far. I am still pondering. But the others I have started are keeping me busy. Will share them soon 🙂
Sheila, thanks for all the sharing from your grateful heart; there are countless grateful hearts on the receiving end! Inge’s postcard is a visual field day—what fun!
And, speaking of fun, how ’bout that ArtNow Community at Simone’s new website? Awesome, yes?
YES! I am so glad to see it is growing! Inge’s card is pure delight – a blessing to be sure 🙂
