Think I am ready to count the flower as done. Apologies for the bad image. It is breaking up a bit. Larry suggested that the large dark spots were conflicting with the yellow shapes in the center of the flower. I was only concerned with the two on the bottom. Looking again, I noticed just how distracting they were. Four corners of a square. So I painted over, added some new smaller splatter to fill the voids, and I am happy with the result. Thank you Larry!
And thanks to everyone who shared suggestions!
To the next small start, I added Shiraz Inktense lines. I see hills, snow. sky. Still considering adding textures. Had that idea in the beginning. Might be more to come with this one.
How did you get the dots to disappear and appear? Thought I was seeing things! Like it when not there! Like your flowers in the snow, or sand!
It is two images flipping back and forth. A GIF. I like it better too. And without Larry’s suggestion, I would have only removed two of the spots. Thanks for visiting Carol 🙂
Experimenting is the joy of an artist – fun and learning mixed together . Well done Sheila!
Thank you Val! Spoken like a true artist, and instructor 😉
Your black pox cleanup is pretty impressive, Sheila, and your snowy mountainscape is sitting right in between total abstraction and suggesion of the familiar right now. Waiting to see what you’ll decide …
Black pox, like that Dotty 🙂 I am waiting to see too. LOL. 😉
