Had fun with this. The vase has two textures, but the polka dots are not showing as well as they do in person. The green is also showing darker here. It is really very pretty.
I masked off the bottom half, and the right side. Next I splattered paint. The side looks as if it wasn’t masked. Oh well. I’m thinking that it looks wonky, with an obvious splatter line. So I may go back in and add one flick to the bottom half, on the left. Another option is to go back in digitally, and remove some of the splatters. Still thinking on it.
Nelvia asked what colors I am using. Craft paint for this one. Here’s the list:
Anita’s – Light Coral, Buttered Yam, Terra Cotta, Dark Plum, Deep Celery,
Craft Smart – Bisque
Apple Barrel – Sunkissed Peach
Americana – Cranberry Wine, Natural Buff
Bisque is my favorite white. It is soft, not too white. And not warm at all, like ivory. I only have one bottle. Couldn’t find it in stock anywhere. I also had a hard time finding my favorite Shiraz in these acrylics. I am mixing the plum and wine to get the color I want. Sunkissed peach is a flesh tone. I like using it in place of white, and mixing in the yam or peach. In day 9, it looks more pink due to the wine undercoat.
Site updates have been done. Might be a few more left. I am crossing my fingers that this post is delivered to your inbox tomorrow. Have an awesome weekend!

All those colors sound so yummy. Must remember to eat before checking emails!
Or looking at art blogs! Grapes, pomegranates, lemons, limes, beets! Thanks for taking part Sea, and for being a regular in my neck of the woods 🙂
Warm My Heart warms my heart. It is signature Sheila, and I love it! Love the color palette, the splatter, the textured vase, the contrasts in texture and line, the upbeat feel of the piece as a whole. The splatter is especially appealing to me. It feels like a manifestation of the uncontainable joy of the flora. Those long-legged beauties are so delighted to have found themselves in company with such an elegantly earthy vessel.
Elegantly earthy – I like that Dotty. Might have to make that my tagline 😉 LOL 🙂 This is definitely one of my favorites, my best Burridge attempt of the month. It was the first (this month), and I found it difficult to duplicate the process. I will be practicing his technique more, it is so much fun 🙂
Love “joy of the flora”! Such a wonderful thought. Brought to mind fairies and creatures of the forest all living in harmony. Thank you Dotty, for sharing your joyful thoughts with me 🙂
