There’s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say, “Cuckoo”
Cuckoo, cuckoo
Regretfully they tell us cuckoo, cuckoo
But firmly they compel us
To say, “Goodbye”, to you
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight!
Lucky for us, it isn’t really goodbye. Just goodbye to the 30 Paintings In 30 Days Challenge. Until January that is! Do you think you will join again?
Stay tuned, tomorrow I will share a collage of all 30 paintings, and a collage of my favorites. And I will let you know which were viewer favorites.
But wait! There’s more!
I will be doing a giveaway!
If you get a chance, I have a favor to ask. Follow the links to comment, if you tried to, and were unable. Comments were down on the blog for two days, the 9th and the 10th. I think they were down on the 11th and 12th as well, but there are a few comments on those posts. I would be grateful!
Wishing you a JoY FiLLeD weekend!
Love this one too… Love your encouragement and your sweet comments. You are a blessing to me and many others. Thanks, Sheila… Wouldn’t want to do this 30 days without you. 🙂 <3 Oh, and I'm so glad you are on Instagram now!!!
Awww, thanks for that Karin. I adore your work, and admire your talent. 🙂 LOL I am glad to be on IG too. Don’t know why I put it off… for TOW years I think. Adding more social media to my life seemed so daunting. But it is so fun to see so much art every day 🙂 And I love your daughter’s work too! See you tomorrow, so excited 🙂
Congratulations, Sheila!! You accomplished so much in 30 days. Can’t wait to see all your work tomorrow.
Thanks Katie! I was just dared on IG to continue to 100. I dunnnnooo…. LOL. You make it look so easy. Maybe if I paint everyday, and post every other day. LOL. Thanks for following along my friend 😉 Means more than you know 🙂
Awesome job Sheila!!
Hi Larry – so great to hear from you, thank you 🙂
Isn’t it interesting how a few little squiggles in the centre of a blob of colour can turn the blob into a flower. I must say that I really liked this piece until I saw the colour of the vase. The purples and the yellows (compliments) with the green accents are lovely but the peach vase is, for me, a jarring note. I look forward to seeing your collage.
Thanks Val for your honest assessment 😉 The colors did not turn out as I had planned. The peach is supposed to be more of a clay. But if I had gone to heavy I would have lost the textures. And I did in the background. I meant for the background to be more of a soft white, with just hints of shiraz. But my mixing went bizerk.
So glad you see the flowers too 🙂
I have enjoyed your journey through the 30 days. I like reading about yourself thought process when painting. Happy Fall. Ruth
Thank you Ruth for following along 🙂 Did you take part in the challenge, I do not remember seeing you listed, maybe under your blog name? happy Fall to you as well, always something interesting to paint this season 😉
I love the texture you put on the vase! That is genius, and lovely. I’m thinking I may do the challenge again in January. This was fun.
Oh you should Rebecca! Your sweet pieces were a daily joy 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting so often, and sharing your observations 🙂 Lovely to hear from you 🙂
Song from my favorite movie of all time. What a beautiful way to end the challenge! Love your bouquet! Thank you so much for encouraging all of us, for sharing your stories and your art.
High five Laurelle! The wonderful thing about great movies is that they infect your life. They come back to you at the oddest moments and stir your emotions, as if for the first time.
I first saw this as a play, when I was in grade school. In Balboa park in downtown San Diego. It was an amazing performance! The airport is downtown as well. Each time a plane flew by, the entire cast would freeze. The performance would stop, until quiet resumed, and then the players started again. It was intriguing, how they all were in perfect syncopation.
The song came to me, and I thought it was a celebratory way to end the challenge. So glad you liked it Laurelle, and thank YOU for sharing your thoughts, and ART in the challenge 🙂
The art of arranging flowers has pretty much escaped me over the years. Much as I might like to have that skill set under my belt, I’ve never undertaken to get it there. But YOU, on the other hand, have arranged these flowers SO satisfyingly! Love the lush fullness, the complements of colors, the contrast of bloom sizes, the perfect amount of greenery. What a grand parting gift on this the last day of the September challenge!
Thank you for your daily art, Sheila!
Thank you for your daily musings dear Dotty 🙂 So blessed to have you visit and chat so often. Grateful to Leslie and the challenge for introducing us 🙂 So much easier in paint, arranging flowers. In life I always cut stems to short or too long and the arrangement looks wonky. LOL. So glad you enjoyed today’s posting my friend 🙂
What a lovely farewell vase of flowers! Yes it farewell to 30 in 30. Was a great journey.. waiting to see your lovely collage!
Thank you Carol. 🙂 Collage day is always so fun. Your’s is going to be FANTASTIC!
