I was going to call this a work in progress. But I think there is just too much work needed to make it presentable. I could call it a color study, or a learning experience. Yeah. It is a color study.
My inspiration was a soft and washy piece of art. Light and airy, smooth transitions. HA! Oh and some photos of flowers that artist Sea Dean sent me.
Who am I kidding. I CAN NOT do light and airy. LOL! Oh well.
I whipped this out after arriving home from a three-hour tour. I mean, a three-day road trip. I will share more about that soon. Assignment completed. One daily painting.
I had another abstract ready to go, but I reeaaallly don’t like it. HA! Now I am thinkin’ I like it just a little better than this. At least it isn’t messy.
Oh well, I had fun, relaxed a bit, and got to play with my watercolors. I was missing them. I used a Sharpie paint pen to draw the lines and dots. Thought it would work as a resist. And it did for the most part.
Tomorrow is my catch up day. I have missed seeing all the incredible art created in the challenge. I’ll be visiting a blog near you soon!
Love it!!! <3
Cool, thanks Karin. Happy creating to you, we are almost finished! You did it!
I think this is fabulous! My first thought was ‘what fun!’ and I think you should leave it alone. So maybe it wasn’t what you planned to do but I think it works just fine.
I think it is the universe… I keep getting that reminder, and I keep ignoring it. LOL. Just paint and see what happens. Must pay closer attention. Think I will try again, and TRY to just let it BE. Enjoy your afternoon Val 🙂
THIS is my new favorite!! I absolutely adore it!!
Wow, thanks Katie 😉 Bee seeing you soon at your blog, have fun painting!
I am with the majority on this one, Sheila. The colors are bold and beautiful, the background original and creative. It is a let-go kind of painting. Kudos!
Thanks Laurelle 🙂 It has given me an idea for a fabric design. Can’t wait to work on it after the challenge is over. Have fun creating 🙂
I like these lines in your discussion: Assignment completed. One daily painting.
You’ve got the spirit of painting every day, posting every day, trusting that all is unfolding as it should (and how do we know this painting unfolded as it ‘should’? because it DID), and having some fun laughs along the way.
I find myself restfully pausing in and feeling the embrace of the bottom patch of purple, left center.
Thank you for all of the above.
After a hectic 3 days in the car, it was pure bliss to sit and play with color in the quiet of my room. So glad you enjoyed it too Dotty 🙂 I like how that section turned out as well. 😉 happy creating to you my friend!
Fantastic colors! And I love the background. This one is just great.
Thank you Rebecca 🙂 So glad you like it 🙂
I think it’s rather lovely. Love the colors, the white stands out nicely in most parts.
You’re being too hard on yourself. And that is your right, of course. 🙂
But you may think differently if you look at it in a few days, after a bit of rest. And if anything still isn’t OK, your next piece will be better for it.
Happy daily painting, Sheila!
Thanks Corinne, so glad it appeals to you. I am going to go over the white with the pen again, and maybe outline the flowers a bit. I have a few more ideas… so we will see. I am not unhappy with it. It just… had a mind of it’s own, LOL. Happy creating to you as well, I am looking forward to catching up with your posts 🙂
Love that… cheerful as well as peaceful!
Thanks so much Louise, enjoy your day! 🙂
Once again I beg to differ. I like this a lot.
Thank you Sea. I guess I have to let go of expectation of a desired result and just go with the flow. LOL 🙂 Have fun with your next piece!
I think it’s rather marvelous! Love that new look!
Aww, thank you Carol. See you at your blog soon!!
