When I paint these, I am only thinking about how the colors might look together. The feeling that the combination might evoke. Might be stretching a bit here with the title. When I had finished, I thought of the evening sky, the last fading light as it hits the clouds.
I can’t wait to get home and catch up with everyone!

Gorgeous rich colour! You have created some great depth in the stripes. Love all the experimenting you are doing Sheila
Thanks so much Janet. Depth? That is awesome to hear 🙂 Thanks for checking in!
I like the variations in the top and bottom strips and, yes, it does make one think of the evening sky.
The top was an experiment, and I was lucky it turned out well. Thanks for stopping by Val 🙂
This is AMAZING! It has a real Mark Rothko feel to it. Even he had to start with experiments.
LOL, thanks Sea. High praise indeed my friend. (If only) His work is so rich and full of depth. I have been thinking of spending some time developing this more. They are fun to work on, and meditative in a way. Thank you Sea, for seeing something I did not 😉
Sheila, these stripes paintings are magnificent—your use of color, your blending, your variegation in the top stripe, your subtle shifts in value in the bottom stripe, and the contrast of top and bottom with the saturation of the middle stripe: pure delight!
Thank you Dotty 😉 Having fun playing like a kid 🙂 I miss your daily art, and everyone! I know what I am doing tonight, LOL
Beautiful color combo, Sheila. Love how you’re going for the abstract now.
These are fun Corinne, I think there will be more 😉 Enjoy your day 🙂
Looking forward to seeing them! 🙂
Thanks Corinne 🙂
I just love your explorations! Yes a very calm feeling!
Thank you Carol, so glad you enjoyed it 🙂
