Small Bowl
5 x 5 watercolor on paper

The artist is a receptacle for emotions
that come from all over the place:
from the sky,
from the earth,
from a scrap of paper,
from a passing shape,
from a spider’s web.
Pablo Picasso
Painting picture by picture,
I followed the impressions my eye took in at heightened moments.
I painted only memories,
adding nothing, no details that I did not see.
Hence the simplicity of the paintings, their emptiness.
Edvard Munch
I found as I was working on my quote project that not only could these guys express themselves in images, they weren’t too bad when it came to words either. Lovely little bowl and thoughts.
So glad you enjoyed them Nelvia. Guess it all comes from the same place 🙂
Simple daily objects make beautiful paintings. This one shines!
I had so much fun with this, and I want to paint it again. Enjoy Carol, thanks for visiting 🙂
I absolutely love this! The lines, colors and shadows are perfect. Thank you for sharing the lovely quotes too.
Thank you Juana 🙂 Loved your Black Crow, it’s gorgeous 🙂
This is so beautiful – I think it is the simplicity of it. Your line work, delicate shading and love the blues. Hope you will frame this gem!
Thank you Janet 🙂 I have it sitting on my desk, both the painting and the real bowl. It is one of my favorite things, and two of my favorite colors 🙂
Looks like you opted for simplicity with this instead of an explosion of colour. Very nice Sheila!
LOL. Out of necessity. It was late, but I wanted to paint. Glad you like it Val. Enjoy 🙂
New look at your website! Woke me right up with surprise and delight!
And SMALL BOWL is stunning in its simplicity, compelling in its sureness of self. Totally love it.
You Like? I am still working out some details. Just a quickie before bed, I love this crooked little bowl. It was fun to paint, and I want to try it again. 🙂
simply sublime…exquisito!
Gracias mi talentosa amiga 🙂
