Blustery day, and the light came and went quickly. For a moment,  the sky and hills were nearly the same color. The fields and trees glowed against the somber landscape.

Tore through the first attempt. Note to self. If you are going to rip up a painting, wait until the paint dries. Especially if that painting is in indigo.

Treated to a late lunch today, new restaurant. Still discovering new favorites in town. Later, my annual slice of cherry pie. All is right in Sheila’s neck of the woods.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. So kind of you to take the time. Happy creating to you! So in awe of the work everyone is posting!

Hi Juana! Thank you 🙂 The color turned out a bit different than I hoped. (foreground) But I am happy with it as a whole 🙂 all the best to you this year as well, happy creating!

Beautiful colour – love the intensity of the indigo and then the lighter colour in front. Very dramatic. Can’t wait to see more!

I am chuckling over the ‘wait until the paint is dry’ comment – I’ve done that – lol. An interesting combinations of colour; the blue with the peach tones – very cool!

LOL. Glad you like the palette Val. I can still fish the pieces out of the trash, and use them for collage. If I were going to do collage. LOL

You’ve captured the essence of “Blustery” very well here Sheila! ..

Winnie the Pooh: “Happy “Winds-day”, Piglet.

Piglet: [being blown away] Well… it isn’t… very happy… f-for me.

Winnie the Pooh: Where are you going, Piglet?

Piglet: That’s what I’m asking myself, where?

[he is lifted into the air by a gust of wind]

    Piglet: W-Whoops! P-P-P-Pooh!” 🙂

LOL really. I love Pooh, and I played Piglet once in school. Gotta be the originals. Sterling Holloway R.I.P. Blustery is such a good word. I try to use it whenever I can 🙂 Thanks for the break with Pooh and Piglet. Sometimes it is good to hear voices in your head. LOL.

Wow. Great painting, especially those clouds and light from behind.I’m not in it (yet?), but hope to see some of your work this month.

Yes, nice to keep in contact. And yes, I’m happily creating. I’m taking #365 – daily video class by Carla Sonheim. I watch the video every day. I may not create every day, but very close to that.

MOODY BLUES—so striking! The sky captures the changeable nature of the blustery day you described in your post. I plan to carry the spareness and beauty of this painting with me into my day as a visual mantra.

Sheila, I’m very impressed with your Mingus series.
