I have had so much trouble getting these soft colors to show correctly on screen. This one scanned near perfect.  I only had to bring out the rust.

Some of the canvases I am using were older, and were painted on before. This one is part of a newer batch, and it is wrapped tightly. Crisp edges and corners. I like that. And the canvas texture is more pronounced. I like that too. I don’t know if it is a difference in the gesso, or the canvas cloth itself.

On this you can see small dots of color, in addition to all the larger, “blobs”. I really like the contrast of the combination. Grains of sand, chunks of clay. White washed walls that have seen better days.

Just love these abstracts that you are sharing. This one in particular is a real gem. Beautiful textures and colour. Just the right amounts to draw the viewer in and have them keep coming back for more.

“Better Days” feels like a magnificent microcosm of the Mingus Mountain range. You have zoomed your lens and heart in close, close, close. Then closer. To the core essence. And you have glorified it in paint. Totally love this piece. The traces of deep magenta are like pieces of magnet that pull me in, and they “make” this piece for me, BUT by themselves they would be nothing. Every bit of paint on the canvas works together to make this piece hum. Brava!

Dotty, So wonderful to see my art through your eyes. Such a gift you are! My brain was not working that way. I had not in any one of these, made the connection with Mingus. Somewhere in the back of my mind was New Mexico. But not a fully formed thought. I love that you connected them. You gave me a cohesive theme for the month! Another gift! What would I do without you?! Enjoy life a whole lot less, that is for sure! Bless you Dotty and enjoy ripping up that paper today 🙂
