I had fun working on this. Had no idea what to do when I started. So I just plopped some color on the clean white paper. I had chunky blocks of clay and then I REALLY didn’t have an idea. I set it aside and started another piece.

Little by little, I added more color. I added white lines, then shiraz, and finally the indigo. It didn’t feel complete. I splattered lime to break up the dark areas. Next, white splatters and then indigo.

I didn’t realize until the end, that I had the makings of an abstracted flower.

This is so exciting Sheila! Love your experimentation and just ‘going for it’. Can’t wait to see more.

You are right Val! I turned it several times. Also it can be cropped for different compositions. Have fun today 🙂

ENERGY! So cool- the lines, the colors, the direction. My immediate thought was flower!
Also, “Palm”-one of my favorites of yours. I love the diagonal horizon line, three trees. Such a contemporary looking design.

Thanks Laurie, so glad you like them both 🙂 I was having fun with the palms, half expected they would be scraped off or painted over. But Luck was on my side 🙂

You outdid yourself on this one. First think I thought when I saw it pop off the page was comics. I think it is the color and all the action that gave me that first thought. But it would be a perfect back drop for some super hero. Well done.

I had to look hard to see the flower (beauty of abstracts, everyone sees something different), what I saw when I looked at the thumbnail on Leslies blog was a windy day. Just going with the flow can often result in nicer paintings than planning the details.
