More work to be done on this, time slipped away. I finished four of the small canvases. Not much work needed. I spent more time prepping the scans for posting, than I did on painting.
Started this late, seems to be my pattern in this challenge. I need to deepen the front range, it seems out-of-place to me. I also meant to add the moon and some clouds, but that will get done tomorrow.
Feeling much more relaxed now that I have my goal in sight.
Put the finishing touch on yesterday’s piece. Added some detail to the left side. Better.
This is the before.
Hey, we are almost half way there!
Take a peek at everyone’s day twelve!
Pinterest board growing with almost 750
glorious artworks by friends and favorites!
I hear you!! My actual painting time is so short compared to the time I spend taking photos, editing them, writing blog posts, listing on Etsy, and all that jazz. Ugh. Computer work gets the best of me. What a time sink it is. Your painting is looking good, tho, Sheila. Can’t wait to see how you finish it. Seems impossible that it’s almost the middle of the month..January is FLYING past. Wow!
LOL, you are right about that Katie! September’s challenge always seems to take longer to me, I don’t know why that is. Happy painting to you Katie, and quick computing, LOL!
You sound like you have been pretty busy – I hope you are going to share the canvases. I like the small changes you made to yesterday’s painting and look forward to seeing those you make to today’s piece. Good luck!
I will Val, they are my last week of the challenge, so you will see them all. Glad you approve the change. Not a large one, but I think it makes a difference. Have fun today Val 🙂
haha, I finally found you and am going to spend some time on your site. First thing I love all the color in your borders and header. Going to be fun!! By the way you must have been up way early to make today’s post!!
LOL, thanks for looking so hard Nelvia 🙂 I am glad you like the borders, and banner. I have been thinking of changing to something more stream lined. More “professional”. I am fond of the pattern though. On of the first I designed. I am up late yes, to post. I am a night owl anyway, but I have been staying up later to post when Leslie opens the link. Oh I just love the mouse you did today, on my way to check out more 🙂
Lovely!
Merci Martine!
Those puffy white clouds are amazing! How is that possible in watercolor? And the ridge in the closest mountain, you can feel its depth.
That is the white of the paper Laurelle. I am still learning how to tint the undersides of clouds. I think clouds might be easier in oils or acrylics, but I have not tried in either. 🙂 Happy painting to you 🙂
Sheila, you are a busy gal! Fun to see Sunset Sky as a work in progress. I like the feeling of being IN these mountains—I’ve got my hiking shoes on and I’m already wiping sweat from my brow.
Love the finishing touch on Mingus Red—perfect enhancement, adding depth and texture.
LOL Crack me up Dotty, you go girl! (There are hiking trails btw) Happy creative journey to you today 🙂
What a great collection of mountain paintings! I love the pink sky against the indigo mountains!
Thank you Carol, so glad you are enjoying them 🙂
