It is almost that time again. I have signed up for Leslie Saeta’s January 30 Paintings In 30 Days Challenge. The link is below for those of you interested in taking part. Remember, there are no rules. You do not have to paint the full 30. You just need to paint everyday. Or sketch, collage, it’s up to you! I hope to see you there!
I am trying to think of a theme. Mountains? Flowers? Desert plants? Abstracts? Or maybe a color theme. Indigo? Naples Yellow? Quin Magenta?
This is the same mountain range that I see from my studio window. I have not been successful in getting a good photo to share yet. This section is just south of my view. I love all the crags and crevices. I need to keep painting them so I can get really good at it!
I worked more on the pink ranunculus. I deepened the color between the buds. And I reworked the shadow. I know it is ridiculous to have an indigo shadow on a green vase. But it is my brush and my paper, and I wanted indigo. This time the shadow has a bit of a layered, lacy effect at the edges. More organic and less “mistake”.
Before.
Join the 30 in 30 January fun!
I would LOVE to do another “30 in 30” challenge, but… I’ll be working full-time, so I doubt I’ll have the energy! (I start on Monday – I’m excited and nervous!!) However, I am very much looking forward to seeing what you come up with in January, because honestly, I can never get enough of that mountain range! More please! 🙂
Yay!!! Congratulations Emma!!!! High Five! Aww, thanks for that. I am going to miss seeing your work each day, nice to know you will be checking in now and then 🙂 I will be posting mountains for tomorrow 🙂
1. January? When is that? WAY too far in the future for me to think about.
2. Love the demarcating treeline in “Mountain,” Sheila.
3. Damn straight: it’s your brush, your paper. Go, indigo!
Always love seeing what you’re up to : )
LOL, It’s next year Dotty… who needs to think about that THIS year??? Glad you like the trees Dotty, I like your banner trees 🙂 Indigo! Indigo! Having fun with your work as always. 🙂
WOW that indigo really makes things pop – so much fun! I really like your landscape today too; every aspect is perfect. I have signed up for the 30 paintings challenge and am thinking I will do a number small pieces with birds. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do, Sheila.
Oh I am so glad you are able to take part Val! I missed you! Can’t wait to see your birds 🙂 Terrific idea! So glad you like the landscape. I was sure I fudged it when I was done. But the next morning it looked much better to me 🙂
Great mountain scene… Beautiful bright day!!! I have also joined up… also looking for a theme… probably abstract + collage in tune to the course I am still doing .. a bit behind but maybe this will keep me on the straight and narrow.
Thank you Carol 🙂 YAY! So glad I will be seeing you each day! I am behind on my AI class. I SHOULD do alcohol inks for a month. Still time to decide 🙂
