This is too pretty to end up in the round file. I really like the tiny flowers, and the washes on the hill are interesting, if subtle. Could be cute bookmarks, if I slice it down the middle.
I started out with a 6 x 6 piece of paper, but I could not get the hill in back to look like it was behind. No matter what I tried it just did not work. Softer. Faded. More grey. Just got worse. Finally I just cropped it digitally. That did the trick. I had fun in the process!

Sheila, this is wonderful! So far, my favorite!
WOW thank you Christiane 🙂 So glad you like it 🙂
That darn perspective is so often a problem! I looked at the painting through my red plastic filter and the tonal value of the base of the back hill is much stronger than the hill in the foreground. Maybe you need to darken the top of that hill and lighten the bottom – but cropping worked too – lol. Have fun Sheila!
I should get one of those, I usually don’t check until close to the end, and in photoshop. I think I was closest to correct in the first wash, but I wasn’t happy with the colors, adding the second washes messed me up. Try, try again. So much to learn, you are right Val 🙂 Your landscapes are always so wonderful!
love the colors and contrast. It could work well as an aceo too.
Oh an aceo would be good Juana 🙂
Both are wonderful, especially the 3 x 6 ” They are so cheerful!!!!
So glad you like them Carol 🙂
I like them both but the cropped image is a little gem. Beautiful rich colours! We are expecting wet snow here today, so I appreciate the warm colours and flowers. Have a great one Sheila!
Oh my Janet! It has been raining and blowing all night. Just a soft drizzle now. Hope it lasts all day. More sunny colors on the way 🙂
Great idea, to crop and save! It is too pretty for the round file. Nice job.
Glad you like it Denise, thank you 🙂
Gotta love cropping and chopping! Love the elegant simplicity here, the little jewels sparkling out of a vast backdrop.
Chop chop! Have fun today my crop and chop friend 🙂
Yes! Very pretty!
Thanks Donna 🙂
