Still working on how to share the videos with you. The files are huge and even compressed, they are bigger than allowed by WordPress. Here is an almost video. These two were not around until just as the sun was going down. They stood on the Jacuzzi ledge for about ten minutes, preening.
Today was warm, and I thought maybe they were cooling their feet in the waterfall. But Google let me know that ducks’ feet have no nerves or blood vessels. So they never feel the cold, even if they swim in icy water.
Hey Sheila, you’re ahead of me about knowing how to do a video! And what is it about these birds and ducks that are just so appealing? And cute? And thanks again for “lending” me some bird pics. They will turn into a painting one day. Anyways your photos make me smile!
So glad you are enjoying them too Laurie 🙂 Maybe it is because they are so quirky. The waddle. The slow and deliberate demeanor. Or maybe that they are so dedicated to one another. Or is it the audacity to completely take over a strangers yard? 🙂 I am trying to get better pictures of those guys… fingers crossed. And If I do I will send them along 🙂
Oh my gosh: I need duck’s feet! I have poor temperature regulation in my feet (they’re way too hot or way too cold way too much of the time)—no nerves or blood vessels might be just the ticket!
Me too Dotty! I am very envious of their nerveless extremities! I have Raynauds, and my feet and hands can no longer handle the cold. Color me Mallard green with envy. 🙂
