Sherry Harmes lives in Larsen Bay, Kodiak Island Alaska. I have swapped with Sherry before, and I always look forward to her art arriving. For these tiny houses she used security envelopes and watercolor. On the back of the card is this:
Conceive, Believe, Achieve!!!
The building she is doing this year includes and addition, Bee, Bird, Butterfly and Bat houses. And relationships with long-lost family! Sherry sounds like a busy bee herself!
Sherry includes the weather stats on her card, I think that is such a fun and creative detail. The temperature in Alaska was at 44 degrees, and when I received the card in Wildomar, CA. our temp was at 51 degrees. Funny to think So. Cal. was almost as cold as Alaska!
I placed Sherry’s card in something that I built (with some help), paint storage crates.
This is my lucky 13th card to arrive! Still looking for one more of the regular swap cards, and then Kat Sloma’s to close the swap. And there are more sides on their way as well!
Wishing you the very best in your busy year Sherry! Thanks so much for sharing your playful art with me!

Love the idea of building. Thank you for sharing your card swaps here…it’s fun going to their links and seeing their other work. What a collection you have…fun!
So glad Corinna, and glad that you are checking out their blogs! I know when you have linked to mine, that it really boosted views that day 🙂 Thank you!
Can you tell me again what the sideswap is. Sorry I missed that post, Ive looked back through the blogposts 🙂
The swap consists of 6 postcards. Five from other artists, and one from Kat, the host of the swap. A side swap is just an extra card from someone who has agreed to do an exchange with you. The first year, I don’t think there were any. Then someone got the idea, and it has become just as huge as the regular swap. And many of us also print extra cards for Kat’s “crew”, her volunteers that help with stamping and sorting.
Thats a great idea!
The shelves? I already need another one. Or a different way to store paint. LOL.
Love it 🙂
Thanks Cindy 🙂
Nice post, Sheila. I received the same pc from Sherry and its among my fav! I love too all the details she puts about weather conditions and so on…
Thanks For visiting Louise 🙂 I always love Sherry’s cards. You can tell she puts her whole heart into it 🙂
This is what I felt too, Sheila… she seems to be very enthusiastic…
It’s infectious isn’t it Louise 🙂
Indeed, it is 🙂
Wonder how many felt her enthusiasm along the way… LOL
