This is a piece I did last year that keeps calling me. A sunflower bouquet. I was happy with both of the paintings in that post, but the next day I went back and reworked one of them. You can see the after here.
I want to paint this bouquet larger. Baby steps. from 2 x 4 to 4 x 6. I thought it would make a pretty postcard for the exchange. I am really happy with this one as well. It did turn out “starched” when you compare it with the original. This vase is straight up and down. (How did that happen? I can’t draw straight lines.) The original vase is a bit wonky. I like the loose sketchy feel of that one.
But this makes me happy. And I want to send happy postcards.
Hope it brightens your day too! Happy weekend everyone!

I like your styling and palette on this one…also, how you’ve got lots of soft, warm colored curvy shapes next to crisp angular cool colored ones. I agree, this would make a gorgeous postcard!
Thanks Corinna. I didn’t think of that… curves and straight. 🙂
I love this Sheila, it make me so happy!
