Was working on this for a gift, but it is going in the log books as practice. I will have to try again. Hoping for loose, but I got lost in the details. Here is the reference photo.
I was hoping to stay somewhat neutral with the surroundings, and let the flowers stand out. But my glazes got away from me. To be honest, I mucked it up about half way through. But I took a chance and tried to save it. And tried, and tried.
Some shadows are too dark, some are too light. I cropped it to see if that would help. Didn’t. But it is not a total loss. I had fun working on it.
So a daily painting it is..
Want to see another red and yellow arrangement?
Happy Joyful Evening to you!
I like it 🙂 practice sessions are annoying when you are hoping for a great turnout. But this is nice Sheila, keep on keeping on 🙂
Thank you Cindy, you too!
this is nice, I lke the red and yellow. One thing I try when I know I’m getting too detailed or it’s going where I really don’t like it….lift it off. Stop messing and just lift while wet. No rubbing wiping or brushing. then when I can’t get anything else off the paper. I let it totally dry and then put fresh clean water back on the areas I don’t like and lift some more. I’m always surprised at what will come off the second time. Since I’ve had more time to study it while it’s drying, I now know a bit more where to go with it. just some thoughts.
peace n abundance,
CheyAnne
Words of wisdom CheyAnne, thanks my friend 🙂 It is good paper, so I am sure you are right, quite a bit would lift off.
And it can be kind of fun. I even bought those The spic and span magic erasers and they help get color out big time….
I have heard that before…. need to try it 🙂
