The final addition to this was a layer of copper. After adding texture, I just wasn’t happy. I applied the copper with a sea sponge, and voilà! Done. Whew!
Here is a look at the pattern created by the sponge. It is delicate and lacy. Pretty. The warm deep tones, mixed with the light of the copper brought a favorite poem to mind.
Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou. Listen to her read it here. Even her voice was phenomenal!

I like the sponge idea and I thoroughly enjoyed Maya Angelou, thanks
Cool, I always love listening to her 🙂
Oooh, lovely copper touch!
Thank you Rolina 🙂
Sheila,
I love the copper layer – it is beautiful!
So glad Connie 🙂
I must admit, I’m a bit confused. Is it a self portrait perhaps? Love the textures and all your experimentation, Sheila.
Not a self portrait. And not quite what I was going for. Not quite female enough. #13 Someone had to be unlucky today… ha ha ha
The copper really lit this up. Congrats
Thanks April 🙂
