Beautiful girls in fancy new dresses,
faces all powdered, combed are their tresses.
Standing still now, yes, on display
soon asked to dance, they hope, oh they pray.

I am the least happy with this one, of all I have painted so far this month. It’s done now, and on the books. I was actually on a roll today, I have three others started, and I worked a bit more on the one I thought was going nowhere (from a couple of days ago).
Maybe if I add a long braid to this, or some curls. Or swap the colors out. Hmm… so maybe it is a work in progress. I didn’t think of “ladies” in the beginning. But that red form, even before the color, looked as if she was standing there with an attitude. And the stripes remind me of those silly band-aid looking concoctions.
Ok, it is official. I have had the best birthday “week” ever! It started back on December 24th, when I received this wonderful painting from Kathy Mackay.
Then, few days ago, this gorgeous surprise arrived from Sea Dean.
And yesterday, I had these amazing tiny treasures waiting for me.
I can not believe all the detail Sandy has packed into such a tiny space! Boggles the mind!
My heartfelt thanks to each of you. I really am so honored! I love your work, and I am in awe of your talents!
Boy I tell ya’, great art definitely puts a little sunshine into this cold weather being sick thing. (Going on two weeks oh joy!)
Treat yourself, visit Leslie’s site for a look at the artwork created today.
Also hop on over to Sea Dean’s blog and vote if you please.

Sheila, you are a prime example of an artist that cannot see the beauty in her work. I think this is your best yet.
By the way I just spent some time searching for an easy way to share your blog on Facebook. You can LIKE but I can’t find a SHARE.
Thanks for that Sea. It just happened so easily… can’t count right? ha ha ha
Thanks for letting me know. I looked to see if I could add share for Facebook, but I am going to have to do more research. I have tried to add that Facebook, I think it is call fans or fan page. Where it shows the thumbnails… and I can not get it to work. I will let you know when I get it added. 🙂 Thanks for wanting to share 🙂
Ditto what Susan said . . . I love what you are doing this time around!!! And thanks for all the kind words about my ACEOs. I am SO GLAD you won (Two) ! They have magnets on the back and although I did spray them with varnish and a UV coating, you can hang them in the sleeve so they’re really protected. Thanks for all your enthusiasm about my work my friend. xo Sandy
I saw the magnets! Cool idea! I am so glad to hear you like them Sandy! I think everyone is doing remarkable work this time! Really, when I open you pieces up… my jaw just drops. And for Connie’s and Susan.. and Sea, and Kathy, and Kat.. and Val, Jil, Pam… CheyAnne, Rolina, Jim… Everybody!!! Sue, Kellie, June, …
How fun to see girls in here
Came to me before I added the patterns.
Sheila,
I am so enjoying your new design shapes and colors!
Thanks so much Connie!
You lucky girl – all those wonderful art gifts! I can’t believe how Sandy Sandy can work so finely with the alcohol inks – amazing. I like your day 11 piece. I don’t think it has to signify anything but the shapes, colors and decoration make it so interesting – good job!
Her detail is amazing isn’t it Val 🙂 Looking at it (my piece) from across the room, I am liking it more this morning. Maybe because it came about so easily… I didn’t consider it “work”.
I think you are on to something with the patterns and forms. The colors compliment very nicely. Just with yellow there were lots of interesting patterns and designs to think about. Sometimes the creator can be their worst critic and sometimes the opposite. I like it.
I am glad you like it Susan. You are so gifted when it comes to pattern and form 🙂
Wait! What??!! How did I not know it was your birthday???!! Arrgh. I’m so sorry. It’s seems that I missed wishing you a happy day. ::insert pouty face here:: Is there still time? Email me your address, and I’ll pop something in the mail for you. 🙂
??? One of your cute kittes Katie? ha ha just kitting
Nice one
Thanks April!
I like the way the colours change in the photo – clever! (plus I am rather jealous of the wonderful ATCs you have received)!
Sandy’s work is amazing isn’t it? I also have the honor of being the “winner” of one of her cool feather paintings.
so good! I love everything you do but my fav so far recently is the Dowager one!Love!!
Thank you Kat, your opinion means a lot to me 🙂

Aren’t they Cindy 🙂 My blessings have been bountiful!
