Working on my submission for the Visual Aids 17th ANNUAL POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE event. I have a handful of cards prepped with black acrylic marks. Today’s card started with basically four lines.
I rotated the card, to see what I could “see”. Took a minute for an idea to form. This next step I completed quickly. About 15 minutes. That is only important because the goal was to keep my strokes loose.
I added more black around the edges, and some blue acrylic. The deadline is next month, so I have some time. Let me know what you think when you get the chance.
Just getting that first mark on the paper can be so liberating. The shapes and colors remind me of California poppies.
So true Juana. I thought of poppies too, but decided to keep the name “abstract”. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend 🙂
Ahh..I love working intuitively, and I see you do, too! It’s such a thrill to make something out of a blank slate. Great job! 🙂
Thanks Katie! I think my failed pieces are due to my trying too hard. Forcing a result. Being at the mercy of a few marks, frees me from that. Have a great weekend 🙂
