I don’t know what I was thinking.
“I can whip these out in a couple of hours, they are so small”
These are 4 x 4 inches. I don’t have a result in mind, not trying for anything in particular, other than “pretty”. I am working on a small series to submit for publication. I’ll tell you all about that tomorrow, when I actually have something to show.
The sun was already down, so horrible lighting, but still a peek, and proof that I am painting.
Just building layers, texture, pattern. Years ago I did faux finishing, well I still do at times but not that ghastly marble that was all the rage. Might use some of those tricks here though.
I am known among my family and friends, for having this weird gift. They can bring me any piece of furniture, and I can tell them exactly what they need to do to match it. Colors, technique, products, tools. Say they found an expensive night stand, and they want to DIY it on the cheap. In fact this month I will be painting a bathroom cabinet to match a shabby chic piece. I’ll show you when it is done!
I don’t feel right posting this to Leslie‘s blog, I think I will wait and post the finished pieces.
Happy creating everybody!
Working small is a challenge in itself! 4 x 4 – wow. I might get a 4 x 4 by cutting up a 20 x 32 – LOL! It’s nice to see where your Sunday paintings started. I can relate to not knowing where it’s going at the start. Fun isn’t it!
Yes it is Jim! It is like going for a road trip, with no particular place to go. ha ha Can’t get those songs out of my head.
I have a nightstand/endtable sort of thing, that I have plans for, someday I’ll get to it… If I only had the time to fit it into the 30/30!
That is what I am trying to do Susan.. kill two birds with one stone. Ha Ha. I love your lighthouse sunset!
Chatting with you here….Leslie would love this post…and I think you are creating cute pieces of art that are totally unique…layer upon layer!
Thank you Carol 🙂 Loved seeing your red glass this morning! So cheerful!
Hey There Sheila. Can’t wait to see how these turn out. Very intriguing, indeed. Also….looking forward to seeing the cabinet, too! 🙂 Have a fun weekend. Good luck with keeping up on the challenge! Yikes! It’s not easy… (at least for me. 🙂
Thank you Joan. I am trying to accomplish about five things, all this month! Very hard indeed to keep up! Best of luck to you my friend, and if you only do a few, that is OK too!
